Official Logo of the College of Fine Arts
Year: 2026
Following the establishment of the College of Fine Arts Council, deliberations began regarding a specific theme to serve as the foundation for the college’s logo. It was decided that the core material for this work should be derived from archaeological or historical remains. Last autumn, the artist Gohdar Salahuddin was commissioned, in his capacity as a graphic designer, to undertake the task of designing the logo.
With guidance from archaeologist Kovan Ihsan, it was discovered that this design is carved on Daka Mountain in the Duhok Governorate. First spotted via an aerial camera, this stunning view shows an ancient work created by our ancestors thousands of years ago. The image has since been adopted as the primary mosaic pattern for the College of Fine Arts’ logo.
Mission
We are dedicated to enriching artistic culture, fostering aesthetic appreciation, and enhancing intercultural dialogue to drive social progress. Our core mission is to empower the public and private sectors with highly skilled, tech-savvy artistic talents who are fully prepared to excel in today’s job market.
To achieve this, we continuously modernize our educational methods—focusing on critical thinking, creative experimentation, and practical problem-solving to stay ahead of global trends in art and technology. We also prioritize scientific research and artistic production, encouraging faculty and students to create works that advance artistic knowledge and address community issues. Finally, through exhibitions, cultural events, and strategic partnerships, we harness the power of art to strengthen cultural identity and support sustainable development.
Vision
Art is a human philosophy, a source of wisdom and reform, and a message that speaks to the conscience, expressing both thought and emotion while reflecting the aspirations and concerns of society. Establishing a refined art form, built on scientific and methodological foundations, is bound to advance and elevate education, research, and artistic creativity at both the local and regional levels. This, in turn, contributes to the cultural and artistic development of both Kurdish and Iraqi societies.
